Android and iOS Users Can Now Enjoy YouTube Music with Live Lyrics

YouTube Music: YouTube Music, a music streaming service developed by YouTube, will reportedly release live lyrics on Android and iOS devices. Live lyrics are already available on Apple Music, and now YouTube Music users will also be able to use this feature.

According to a report by 9to5Google, the Lyrics tab of the Nyt soi app has been improved with a new look. The text is now larger and better positioned for easy reading. The current line is highlighted in white, and the rest of the text is light gray. You can scroll down to read more lyrics and the page will automatically advance as the song progresses to the next line.

In the background there is a blurry cover image and a sound cue before the lyrics start. Currently, some songs have live lyrics, while others still have a static version. The reason for this difference is not clear. “Our initial tests show that the source of the lyrics and the date of publication do not seem to affect this,” 9to5Google reported.

Multiple reports confirm that live lyrics will be rolling out to YouTube Music for both Android (version 6.15) and iOS (6.16) starting today. If you don’t see the feature right away, you can stop YouTube Music in the app’s details and try different songs.

According to the report, the rollout of live lyrics is separate from ongoing testing of the updated Now Playing interface, which includes the addition of comments.

In related news, YouTube Music for Wear OS now lets you browse songs in a playlist or album.

Since launch, when users selected an album or playlist in the YouTube Music Wear OS app, they were taken to a minimalistic page with just the title and two buttons – one for download and one for playback.

Now a list of all songs is displayed on the same page, allowing users to select and play a specific song.
